Dynamic Characteristics
Rubber mounts differ from spring mounts in that the natural frequency is a function not only of the deflection but also of the rubber hardness. The noise absorption properties of the Resilmount A50R allow it to perform effectively as vibration isolation hangers for acoustic ceilings, deflecting 3/16” when loaded to 110 lbs in accordance with American standards. This performance provides optimal isolation of transferred noise, making it suitable for sound isolation ceiling hangers in demanding ceiling applications.
Installation Notes
When selecting hangers, it is recommended that the calculated mass of the ceiling system is increased by 10–20% to avoid overloading of the isolation element. For projects requiring maximum rated deflections, the ceiling system should be accurately weighed and point loads assessed in accordance with architectural specifications.
The site contractor can undertake normal installation procedures of the suspended ceiling system. Once the hanging rod has been installed from the substrate, the lower end of the rod should be bent in accordance with the ceiling system manufacturer’s specifications, creating a hook on which the Resilmount A50R-1 sound isolation ceiling hangers can be mounted.
Once the mount is in place, another section of hanging rod is bent and inserted through the lower side of the Resilmount A50R-1. The shaft of this rod then becomes the mounting point for the ceiling suspension clip, completing the installation of vibration isolation hangers for acoustic ceilings.
