The ResilMount A50R-1 is a rubber sound isolation hanger purpose-built for suspended and drop ceiling systems, where noise and vibration from the structure above can otherwise transmit straight down into the room below. Installed at each ceiling suspension point along the hanger wire, the A50R-1 breaks that transmission path while adding zero reduction to the ceiling's load capacity.
This is the lightest-duty option in the three-part A50R lineup, color-coded red and rated for 65 lbs per hanger — ideal for single-layer drywall grid ceilings.

Dynamic Characteristics
Unlike spring mounts, rubber mounts have a natural frequency determined not only by deflection but also by rubber hardness. This gives the Resilmount A50R-1 effective vibration-isolation performance as a ceiling hanger, deflecting up to 3/16" at its rated 65-lb load capacity in accordance with American standards. This behavior provides optimal isolation of transferred noise, making the A50R-1 well suited to demanding suspended ceiling applications.
Installation Notes
When selecting hangers, it's recommended that the calculated mass of the ceiling system be increased by 10–20% to avoid overloading the isolation element. For projects requiring maximum rated deflection, the ceiling system should be accurately weighed and point loads assessed in accordance with the architectural specifications.
Standard installation procedures for suspended ceiling systems apply. Once the hanging rod is installed from the substrate, bend the lower end of the rod per the ceiling system manufacturer's specifications to create a hook, onto which the Resilmount A50R-1 sound isolation ceiling hanger is mounted.
Once the hanger is in place, bend and insert another section of hanging rod through the lower side of the A50R-1. The shaft of this rod then becomes the mounting point for the ceiling suspension clip, completing the installation.
