How It Works
Green Glue Noiseproofing Compound is applied as a layer between two rigid building materials (for example, two sheets of drywall). Once installed and screwed into place, it forms a damping system: as sound waves try to pass through the assembly, the compound absorbs and dissipates the vibrational energy as heat rather than letting it transmit through to the next room. Important: Green Glue is a damping compound, not a construction adhesive. Mechanical fasteners (screws) are still required to secure your building materials — the compound handles sound isolation, not structural bonding.
