It fastens directly to the side of wood or steel joists, creating a sound-isolating air space as small as 1/4" below the framing — a big advantage over standard clip-and-channel assemblies that eat up more vertical clearance.
Engineered with a thermoplastic rubber element (rather than standard rubber), the A106R reduces both airborne and structure-borne vibration transfer, helping boost the sound isolation performance of ceiling assemblies in multi-family residential, commercial, and renovation projects where headroom is tight.
